I will explain them all now: 2mm Regular Glass = This is the standard glass found in most frames, a reliable staple, and your best option if you're on a budget! UV 99% = This glass has a 99% UV filter that protects your artwork from any damaging UV rays, a great choice if longevity and preservation is important for your piece, especially if you want to put your frame in a sunny spot! AR70 % = AR stands for Anti - Reflective. This glass has an anti reflective filter, which gives you a clearer view of your work, so you can really take in all those important details! The 70% refers to the UV filter. The AR70% blocks out UV rays as well, but only 70% of them! A great option for any artwork Museumn99% = Lastly, we have the Museum 99%, The anti reflective properties amaze customers when they come into our shop and see it's near-invisible quality. Not only does it look great, but it also has a 99% UV filter protecting your artwork from those pesky UV sun rays. ❗️DRY-MOUNTING❗️ Artwork: 'When life gives you a lemon' - David Shrigley Photo 1: before dry-mounting vs Photo 2: after dry-mounting Reasons to dry-mount: 💥If you have photographs and prints with a glossy finish or poster prints on thin paper. When framed, they might have a rippling reflection. The process of flattening is called dry-mounting. 💥Generally, the process is irreversible, so there are times when you may want to consider it and times when you won’t. 💥To be dry-mounted, the piece has to be flat (no mixed media artworks) as it is rollered down. 💥Dry-mounting glossy prints to di-bond, instead of card, will give the flattest end result. Card often results in an orange peel effect. Risks to highlight: 💥Risk of creasing during the mounting process. 💥We would not recommend dry-mounting pieces that have been signed on the back. The majority of dry-mounting processes are irreversible and so are not advisable if something is valuable. This list of information is not exhaustive.
